Random 'I Could Be'

Ok, I should try this.

I could be fabulous.
I can be attractive,
I can take care of dressing up
in every single detail,
from the nail polish,
to the earrings,
to what's underneath.
I can be sexy, I have been told.

What else?
I can spot at least six or seven different expressions
in every person's face.

And
I can taste two different tastes
on people's lips.
One for the inferior lip
One for the superior.
The superior lip has the better taste.

Besides,
I am the one looking for beauty
at every corner,
in people,
in music,
in sunset,
in London, always.

I am the one loving classic heroins,
classic literature, poetry
Eliot and the Four Quartets,
Emily Dickinson and her poems.
Blake and Shakespeare and Keats.
I can read poetry all night
drinking wine and listening to music,
and then making love,
because it just feels right,
impulsive as I am.

And
when I am in love
I adore my beloved one
I make him breakfast,
I cook him lunch and dinner,
I organize special things,
I try to spice up our sexual life
with lingerie, with talk, with fantasy,
with naughty pics as well.

Oh, and, also,
I take care of myself
'Truth is Beauty and Beauty is Truth' after all
And I am always true, loyal I should say, therefore beautiful?

I cry for the miseries of the world. I sense them deep down my bones.
And yes, I suffer too much,
which means that I can listen to other people's pains.
I am not afraid to face them.

What else?
I can talk about everything,
no fear, no shame, no resentment.
I can go everywhere,
from a beer in a dirty old pub
to the elegance of the Opera and the Royal Opera House.

I adore London,
because it breathes History everywhere,
I get excited talking about Henry VIII, and Anne Boleyn
I was her, in one of my previous lives,
oh, and Elizabeth the 1st, I share my b'day with her and Napoleon!

I love History, I feel full
when talking about history and phylosophy
and the past, and the classics. And Poetry, again.

When I get excited,
I have starry eyes, I jump everywhere,
I am a small spinning top,
I talk too loud, I smile all the time,
I drag everyone into my small world of jumping happiness.

And I kiss whenever I feel like,
wherever I am,
I am not afraid of other people's reaction,
love and feelings and emotions
will always come first for me.
Oh, and I can write about them
and about my beloved one
and my love, of course.

This is still me, somewhere deep inside,
this is still me,
for the pleasure of whoever wants to discover
this 5 - 10% of positive
out of 90-95% of negative,
today.

You talk about being able to see the beauty in things and in other people, so it really is good to see you taking time to see that which is in yourself as well :)

Ah Matt, Remember, it's just 5-10%!
Matthew Morgan said…
Well, whatever percentage you consider it to be, it certainly isn't zero :)
AnnaFullStop said…
It's not being shy, it's being realistic, I have made mistakes in relationships because I am not such a great person after all, no use denying it. But still, true, it isn't zero the positive (or what I consider positive) in me, and I should remember that when I see people out there that one way or the other seem always better than me.

It's very easy sometimes to focus in on what we perceive as the negative. But all the while, the good is still there (again, however much value you may attribute to it).
And that matters.
AnnaFullStop said…
very easy is reductive, it's the simplest thing in the world for me I'm afraid, but the good is still there, sometimes you just believe it when someone else tells you so. For the negative you just believe your own reviews instead.
Well, we are both telling you!
Isn't it, Matthew?

:-)

I can certainly relate to and understand that. Which is why it's good to see you acknowledge the good as well as the 'bad'. It's idealistic for someone only see the good in thenselves, but at the same time to only see the bad isn't going to be a fair review of yourself as a person either. You've some great qualities, you should cherish them as well :)

Let me be your Muse

Breathing is just a rhythm. Let me help you create the music. Let me be your Muse, the one lightening you. Living is not believing. Let me help you believe in something more. Let me be the one driving your pen, kindling your inner language, pulling it all out. Let me speak your language, let me teach you my language. Do trust me, do let me enter. Do talk to me, as if I was a song to be written, Please, please, let me light your sun, the sun you are suffocating inside your dark soul. Let me be your Muse, that is all I've ever needed, all I've ever wanted. To be your Muse. Play my music, act my script, please, listen to my words, recite them, recite them all, but not as if they were cold and heartless, do take them in you, make them yours. Let them inspire you. Let my words inflame you. Let me inspire and inflame you. Don't ask me to be one among the others, Do not oblige me to remain silent and to hide who I am. Do not ask normality of me, Dare an...

Because He is the One

They say that when you meet the One you feel it, deep inside of you, something tingles. You try to suffocate  it because there is no way you can be right, after all the times you have been wrong. And certainly he is not the One. He can't be, he will try to escape, from you, from commitment, from intimacy, from proximity. They say that there is a moment, in everyone's life, when you know that you need to fight. And fight harder for a love, or something really similar to love, that is slipping away, that is not blossoming as it should. What happens, when do you know when is the right time to start fighting? Perhaps when do you feel that he is the One? Or when is it that you let it go instead and accept that it is over? They say that the more you grow up the more you learn to know what you like and what you will never like. They say that at some point you are bound to find people who seems to be the right ones and are not, just because of the circumstances. So...

Millennium Bridge

Mid Afternoon, with the Millennium Bridge embraced by such a weird sun, too powerful to be London, too bright. One never gets to appreciate how big is the bridge until one sees the people walking down it. Stories passing by. So humble. And suddenly I remember that night when I called him because some romantic musician was playing 'Let it be' on the bridge. And those lights...oh those lights on the Millennium bridge that night. In my eyes. Trapped in my heart. And I remember how he was touched by this gesture. One of my usual silly romantic gestures. I sit on some stone stairs which lead directly to the water of the Thames. Directly in the river. Dirty waters but smelling of summer, today, kissed by the sun, moved by the implacable wind. I stare at a couple sitting a bit before me. She is fat, he is bold., they kiss and they seem in love. They share the food. They probably found that compromise which allows every man and woman in love to accept the beloved one without getting ne...
