Bad dreams are made of these

A nightmare
And I am sweat again in the middle of the night
at the centre of my bed,
the duvet upside down.

New Year's Eve
and no sound around me.
The solitude, once again,
is palpable.
Like all those years before last year.

How can the nightmares of the night
be worst of those in the day?

I cried this morning, again, in the bed.
Realising what I miss and how I will be feeling miserable
on New Year's Eve this year. Once again.
And how someone else will be happier instead.

****************

How to get rid of these nightmares, I wondered.

1. Identify the cause of your nightmare:
Easy, the loss.

2. Try and change the ending of the nightmare once awake:
I did it, there was someone else as miserable as me, because of a loss.

3. Make yourself the hero of the bad dream instead of the victim:
Sure, there is someone else who will die miserable on New Year's Eve because of my absence.

4. Try and understand that there is at least a 50%  of possibility that your nightmare will not become true:
My constant problem, thinking that everyone is better than myself and therefore, happier.

5. Try and do something fun when you wake up:
Sure, the only problem is that even the funniest thing ends at a certain point.

And I just realized that mine is not night terror, is not a nightmare.
It is a lucid dream, a lucid dream of what reality has become.

Split in two realities, one full of things I need to do,
the other full of things I couldn't care less of doing.

And no room for things I want or long for or miss.

the bad dreams, the lucidity or the how to get rid of part?

I think only Sherlock Holmes will be able to discover the mystery of what Mr. Watson tried to speak :D :D :D

I vote for the 'how to get rid of nightmares' part!

I think not, because as a wannabe detective as I am, I would say that the "how to get rid of nightmares's part" does not work very well since it did not work with you!
One out, two left!

He was talking about the image!!

noooooooo, he isn't talking about the image. And I'll try your dream's recipe today because I know it will work with me :P

So what is he talking about!? let me know if it works!

As a child, I feared drowning- I am scared of not being able to breathe. I used to wake up sitting jolted at the middle of the night...

... somehow this image, reminded me of that.

I do not have that drowning nightmare anymore; took me some- but well... at least they're gone.

well, nightmares usually occurs if one gets into Obession mode! those are directly proportional to one's thoughts during a day!
if negetivism is around then definitely one proned to have such nightmares...
now the remedy can be: By thinking opposite to the thought which is frightening you...
AnnaFullStop said…
Reenie, the reason why you overcame them could maybe be the fact that growing up you understood that most of the time you can control breathing right?
After all children are full of fears related to that...I used to have nightmares on being buried alive!!

As for Naresh, you are right, negative thoughts in the day shape the dreams at night and given that I am full of bad thoughts, it is quite obvious that I dream bad things.

Yesterday for example I ended up doing nothing, wasting another sunday, I hate myself when I am so weak, but I really couldn't react, I was devastated and bombed by bad thoughts.

Anyway...Obsession is the right word, and I am afraid I won't solve the problem by thinking the opposite...what is the opposite of feeling abandoned by the person you loved/love that has already replaced you because you meant nothing for him!?

if one is sure that its irreparable loss then i think we should be out of sight of every minute thing whatever is belongs to it. now that's how i can feel oppositely!

may be first try to go away from the place where one has all reminiscents attached...it may be hard but one has to do if one wants to live!

eventually..slowly but surely, a new life with new hope!

well, considered that I moved to London and that I am out of the places that mostly reminds me of that person (even London does remind me of him but not like other places) I don't really know where can I go...and I trashed everything that belonged to us or him, or else...I am trying hard, but I cannot cotnrol dreams...that is the problems, I have questions and things that are not leaving me alone in my mind...and they haunt my dreams...and will continue to do so I am afraid for quite a long time!
thank you Naresh!

Hey, I didn't dream again I were fleeing from zombies to save the Invisible Girl, I think this is a positive point for your method. :D About your problems with the Dutch Sailor, hmmm, I think I'll look for David Jonhnes (from Pirates from Caribean) and find a way so that the sailor will never return to your dreams. We will hold him in David Jonhnes's Lock, perhaps :D

Davy Jones will accept only the eternally damned or the dead in the sea!
Do you think someone in the locks of Davy Jones is unable to haunt dreams!?
Anonymous said…
Dead in the ocean? I can accommodate that! Eternally damned? After what he did to you, he will not have many problems getting it!

Regarding whether Davy Jones is able or not to keep him out of your dreams, we'll find out after locking him there! After a few days even his memory will be erased from our minds. If Jack had not been saved quickly when he was locked up there, he would not have more chances!
AnnaFullStop said…
But I don't want eternal damnation for him, maybe just a bit of damnation in order to help him get some awareness... :(

And remember that in dreams he is not alone...I should start and take some medicines! Davy Jones is already too busy!!!

"awareness"? Do you want him to come back, don't you? Well, I need to start looking for a Greek god that promotes reconciliation then!
AnnaFullStop said…
ehehe well..no, I am not that naive.
He cannot come back, he moved forward, he has someone else David!!! Remember?! He told me about her on my birthday!!!
So, it's clear he moved forward...
but I still don't accept the fact he denied whatever she shared, he minimized everything we had and he was so insensitive and destroyed me without even knowing. That is the awareness I seek...

And as for the Greek God, in this case I would worship Athena, goddess of wisdom, reason and heroic endeveour...

Let me be your Muse

Breathing is just a rhythm. Let me help you create the music. Let me be your Muse, the one lightening you. Living is not believing. Let me help you believe in something more. Let me be the one driving your pen, kindling your inner language, pulling it all out. Let me speak your language, let me teach you my language. Do trust me, do let me enter. Do talk to me, as if I was a song to be written, Please, please, let me light your sun, the sun you are suffocating inside your dark soul. Let me be your Muse, that is all I've ever needed, all I've ever wanted. To be your Muse. Play my music, act my script, please, listen to my words, recite them, recite them all, but not as if they were cold and heartless, do take them in you, make them yours. Let them inspire you. Let my words inflame you. Let me inspire and inflame you. Don't ask me to be one among the others, Do not oblige me to remain silent and to hide who I am. Do not ask normality of me, Dare an...

Because He is the One

They say that when you meet the One you feel it, deep inside of you, something tingles. You try to suffocate  it because there is no way you can be right, after all the times you have been wrong. And certainly he is not the One. He can't be, he will try to escape, from you, from commitment, from intimacy, from proximity. They say that there is a moment, in everyone's life, when you know that you need to fight. And fight harder for a love, or something really similar to love, that is slipping away, that is not blossoming as it should. What happens, when do you know when is the right time to start fighting? Perhaps when do you feel that he is the One? Or when is it that you let it go instead and accept that it is over? They say that the more you grow up the more you learn to know what you like and what you will never like. They say that at some point you are bound to find people who seems to be the right ones and are not, just because of the circumstances. So...

Millennium Bridge

Mid Afternoon, with the Millennium Bridge embraced by such a weird sun, too powerful to be London, too bright. One never gets to appreciate how big is the bridge until one sees the people walking down it. Stories passing by. So humble. And suddenly I remember that night when I called him because some romantic musician was playing 'Let it be' on the bridge. And those lights...oh those lights on the Millennium bridge that night. In my eyes. Trapped in my heart. And I remember how he was touched by this gesture. One of my usual silly romantic gestures. I sit on some stone stairs which lead directly to the water of the Thames. Directly in the river. Dirty waters but smelling of summer, today, kissed by the sun, moved by the implacable wind. I stare at a couple sitting a bit before me. She is fat, he is bold., they kiss and they seem in love. They share the food. They probably found that compromise which allows every man and woman in love to accept the beloved one without getting ne...
